We’re donating 5,000 O2 Curves to frontline workers across Canada

Our co-founders Peter and Rich created O2 after a trip to Asia in 2014 led them to experience the harmful effects of air pollution. Their mission was clear – to help the world breathe clean air. After years of research, design, and development, they received O2’s first 250 Curves in 2017 and were ready to hit the market; but that summer wildfires raged across the West Coast. Rich and Peter knew people were in desperate need of respiratory protection at home, right here in Canada, so they made a big decision – one that would define the ethos of O2 forever. They decided to send those first precious units straight to Kamloops, BC and handed them out to people suffering from the disastrous effects of wildfire smoke.
Since then, O2 has never stopped donating respirators, and we never will. To date, we’ve donated fifty times that original shipment to environmental disasters. We’ve handed out over 12,500 Curves to those suffering from the harmful effects of wildfires and air pollution all over the world.
Fast forward to 2020, and the global pandemic forced the world to face an extraordinary challenge in the realm of respiratory health. With unprecedented global demand for respiratory protection causing global PPE shortages, O2 reacted by scaling up its operations, and has since sold respirators to over 124 countries. As new research surfaced showing that surgical masks alone do not effectively protect those with elevated exposure to respiratory risk, we knew we needed to find a way to get our healthcare heroes the kind of protection they deserve. O2 has launched a campaign called #BetterBlue, encouraging our frontline workers to visit our site for a free Blue O2 Curve.
We’re donating 5,000 Blue O2 Curves to Canadian frontline workers in the medical, first responder, and military verticals. All we ask is that they verify their frontline status (with an ID badge or other form of proof) and cover their shipping cost*. At checkout they will receive a 100% discount code on one O2 Curve, a surgical mask adapter, earloop straps, and a blue shell.
If you know of a Canadian frontline worker in need of a respirator, please share this link to help spread the word.
*Asking those receiving the donation to cover their shipping cost allows O2 to donate more respirators to various organizations globally, and to those in need during the pandemic.
